ESTHER’S PARTY

The things one finds in ones drawers, as it were. Former Daily Express features secretary Esther Harrod was having a rummage when she found this sketch of herself drawn by much loved DX art director Tim Holder, who died suddenly in 1995 aged only 56.

Esther told the Drone : ‘It was for an editorial disco party me, Alison (Features Sec) and Lorraine (TV) organised at the popular Fleet Street watering hole, Duffers.  ‘I don’t know what year this was but I organised another party which turned out to be the night The Falklands War broke out.

‘Pleased to say, even after all these many years, us girlies are still in touch.
